Much to the disappointment of Swifties everywhere, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are reportedly skipping this year's Met Gala. Multiple sources told TMZ that the pair declined their invites to the event. The decline comes as no surprise for Swift, as she has to travel to Paris and return to her Eras tour duties the same week as the Met Gala; however, it's unclear why Kelce decided not to go. Perhaps the star tight-end is reluctant to walk the steps without his better half?

While the couple's relationship is public, the two still haven't walked a carpet together; however, Swift and Kelce were seen getting cozy recently during Ice Spice's set at Coachella Weekend 1 and were seen out and about on vacation and a few dates during March. Nevertheless, since witnessing the pair kiss and gleefully celebrate as a couple immediately following Kelce's triumphant Superbowl victory, we can't help but want the pair to show off their power couple status at an event.

In a promotional video for the song "Fortnight," which was recently released as a part of her newest album, The Tortured Poets Department, Swift shared snippets of her relationship with Kelce, which included a clip of the NFL star lovingly kissing her on the cheek and cooking with her. The clip, which was shared with YouTube shorts, is part of a trend Swift created. She captioned the video with the text, "Share your "fortnight" recap with #ForAFortnightChallenge brought to you by Youtube Shorts."

A few comments under the video gushed with excitement for the singer's newfound happiness with Kelce. One commenter wrote, "I never thought we’d see you feel comfortable and secure enough to share this side of your life. Congratulations."

Despite Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's absence from the Met Gala, the star-studded event will play host to the presence of beloved celebrities, including co-hosts Bad Bunny, Chris Hemsworth, Jennifer Lopez, and Zendaya. Blake Lively, Rihanna, and Beyonce also reportedly said yes to their invites.
