Zendaya in Steamy Love Affair in 'Challengers' Trailer

After subtle hints and hair-pulling teasing, the wait is finally over. We finally have a first look at the highly-anticipated film Challengers, starring Zendaya, Josh O'Connor, and Mike Faist. Directed by Luca Guadagnino, the sports drama follows Tashi (Zendaya) and her husband Art (Faist), who convinced Art to enter a major tennis tournament.

Along the way, the couple reunites with former friend Patrick (O'Connor) — also Tashi's former childhood lover — who they learn will be rivaling Art on the court. As expected, once Art and Patrick learn they will be competing against other, the real drama begins.

Per the film synopsis, the movie "follows three players who knew each other when they were teenagers as they compete in a tennis tournament to be the world-famous grand slam winner and reignite old rivalries on and off the court."

In the trailer, Zendaya looks like an absolute tennis star, much different than her previous roles as MJ in Spiderman and Rue in Euphoria — is there anything she can't do? With the heat cranked up to steaming hot, it's safe to say this film has become more anticipated than before — if that's even possible.

Zendaya, brush off your trophy shelf, we think we see an Oscar nomination in your near future.

Challengers will release in theatres on September 15, 2023.
