Although many celebrities seem to bounce back from birth in what seems like an instant, model and actress Suki Waterhouse shared an Instagram post on April 9 detailing the difficult postpartum reality that is rarely documented by many of our favorite celebrity mothers.
Waterhouse, who recently had a baby with actor Robert Pattinson, made headlines throughout her pregnancy after sporting sensational maternity styles on the red carpet and offering lesson after lesson on what fashion can look like as a pregnant woman, with consistently chic, fresh looks. While many celebrities—understandably—retreat from the public eye during pregnancy, Waterhouse seemed to appear everywhere, ranging from the red carpet to the concert stage, where she stunned in looks like her viral red Valentino gown and the sparkly mini dress, which was worn on stage when she initially announced her pregnancy at Corona Capital Festival in November 2023.
In her latest update on her journey through motherhood, the 32-year-old shared a series of mirror selfies on Instagram, showing off her cozy outfit—consisting of an oversized grey cardigan, a knit bra top, and grey Frida Mom micro shorts—a makeup-free face, and her signature tousled bangs. With a baby bottle in hand and a coffee mug on the counter, Waterhouse offered a realistic vision of what "the fourth trimester" truly looks like, detailing everything from hormone shifts to sleep deprivation. While she shared that it has been an exhausting, "humbling" few weeks, she concluded by writing: "I’m proud of everything my body has achieved and proud of the kindness and grace I’ve given myself during this recovery period."
Waterhouse initially announced that she and fiancé Robert Pattinson were expecting a child in November 2023, and in March 2024, the couple privately welcomed their first baby. The news broke several days following the birth of their child after the pair were photographed in Los Angeles on a leisurely family walk, with Pattinson pushing a stroller while Waterhouse walked by his side.
Several weeks after the baby's arrival was announced, Waterhouse shared her first photo of her newborn child on Instagram, in a sweet Polaroid picture, which she captioned "Welcome to the world angel." Presently, neither Waterhouse nor Pattinson have revealed the sex or name of their child.
