See Selena Gomez's Engagement Ring and How Much Her 'Rare' Diamond Cost

The singer and Rare Beauty founder is engaged to music producer Benny Blanco. Her large diamond ring boasts a heavy price tag and rare cut.

Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco are officially engaged. Wednesday night, Gomez broke the news after sharing photos on her Instagram account featuring her diamond engagement ring and the caption, "forever begins now."

The Rare Beauty founder's ring is, no pun intended, rare according to experts.

“Selena Gomez’s engagement ring is fitting for a talent as rare as hers given less than five percent of diamonds are marquise," Jared expert and VP of Merchandising at Jared Jewelers, Ann Grimmett told L'OFFICIEL over email. She estimates it's about six carats and has a value around $225,000. "The shape represents that what’s old is new again, with a history dating back to the 18th century, but also represents the trend to elongated fancies that we have seen growing rapidly over the past few years."

The pricey ring was well worth it. "When I look at her... I'm always just like, I don't know a world where it could be better than this," Blanco, who is 36, said during a May appearance on The Howard Stern show. The two started dating in June 2023. Gomez, who is 32, has known the music produced for years and even worked together on singles like "I Can't Get Enough" (2019) and "Single Soon" in 2023. Blanco is a leading producer and has worked with many of the generation's biggest pop stars, including Gomez's ex, Justin Bieber.

Though the couple started dating in June 2023, they took their time to confirm details. In October 2023, many fans of Gomez speculated if she was in a relationship because Blanco appeared at a Rare Beauty Impact Fund Benefit on October 4th. In November, Blanco launched his cookbook, and then Gomez liked, commented on, and re-posted on her Instagram story. By December 2023, Gomez confirmed that she was in a relationship with Blanco by liking two Instagram posts by a fan account and commenting "Facts" on a post that stated she was in a relationship with Blanco.

Celebrities flocked to congratulate the singer and beauty mogul under her Instagram announcement, from Taylor Swift to Gordon Ramsay. "Hey wait...that's my wife," Blanco wrote cheekily. "Yes I will be the flower girl," Swift followed. "Congratulations to you both it must be the cooking," Ramsay penned with jest.
