Harry Styles Is Officially Back On the Market
The English singer and former One Direction heartthrob has reportedly split from Canadian actress and fashionista Taylor Russell.
Big news, Harry Styles fans: your favorite pop idol is officially single again. Shortly after hitting the first-anniversary mark with Taylor Russell, reports suggest that the duo has called it quits.
According to the Sun, an insider source revealed that Styles and Russell "went through a rough patch after their trip to Japan and are taking some time apart." "Things have become strained recently though and they’ve taken some time out," the source added.
While the couple had kept their romance relatively low-key, the news still came as a surprise, especially given their seemingly blissful moments together. Over the past year, they were often spotted hand-in-hand, exploring the world together. Russell even showed her support for Styles during his Love On Tour, making an appearance at his Vienna show.
It wasn't unusual that neither Styles nor Russell had never publicly commented on their relationship. Even when he was previously dating Kendall Jenner, Camille Rowe, and Olivia Wilde, Styles maintained his privacy. In fact, in a 2022 interview with Rolling Stone, the "As It Was" singer said he never talked about my life away from work publicly and found that it's benefited me positively." "There's always going to be a version of a narrative, and I think I just decided I wasn't going to spend the time trying to correct it or redirect it in some way," the then 28-year-old singer added.
So, come the 2024 Met Gala, we were hoping that Styles would, at the very least, grace the red carpet with Russell, especially since Styles' last attendance was in 2019. Instead, Russell made her Met Gala debut solo, though she notably did stun in a wood-patterned halter corset and white slitted skirt by Loewe. I guess now it all makes sense why she came alone.
Still, just because the two had broken up doesn’t mean it was a failed relationship. The Sun’s insider source also shared that “They made a lovely couple, and it was obvious Taylor made Harry happy.” So maybe the relationship just ran its course, or perhaps there’s still some glimmer of hope for a reunion.
