We're halfway through 2021, and now is the perfect time to check in with our favorite celeb couples. Here are all the biggest breakups of the year—so far.

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West have established themselves as one of the entertainment industry's power couples. After rumors swirled of tension in the relationship, it finally got out that Kardashian had filed for divorce from West in February of this year.

After tying the knot in 2014, the pair remained married for six years and had four children together: North, Saint, Chicago and Psalm.

This breakup took everyone by surprise: Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez announced that they were separating on April 12th. JLo and ARod were together for a total of four years and engaged for two, but postponed the wedding several times due to the pandemic. 

The marriage between Microsoft founder Bill Gates and Melinda Gates has come to an end after 27 years together. Married since 1994, they gave no details about the divorce, and their joint statement, which Gates shared on Twitter, reads:

"After a great deal of thought and a lot of work on our relationship, we have made the decision to end our marriage. Over the last 27 years, we have raised three incredible children and built a foundation that works all over the world to enable all people to lead healthy, productive lives. We continue to share a belief in that mission and will continue our work together at the foundation, but we no longer believe we can grow together as a couple in the next phase of our lives. We ask for space and privacy for our family as we begin to navigate this new life."
