Taylor Swift Releases 'Red (Taylor's Version)' Album with 10-Minute 'All Too Well'
Fall's most anticipated breakup album is finally here.
The day has arrived: Taylor Swift finally dropped Red (Taylor's Version), as we are all a crumpled-up piece of paper lying here. The "Shake It Off" singer announced in June that, following up her release of Fearless (Taylor's Version), she would be kicking off fall with a re-recording of her 2012 record Red.
However, in addition to the original 22 tracks, fans can now hear all 30 tracks intended for the album, including eight songs from the vault, collaborations with Phoebe Bridgers and Chris Stapleton, and the extended 10-minute version of her legendary breakup track "All Too Well," which has long been presumed to be about Swift's relationship with actor Jake Gyllenhaal.
Accompanying the song is "All Too Well The Short Film," starring actors Sadie Sink and Dylan O'Brien. Many fans have pointed how out the age difference between the two leads—Sink is 19 and O'Brien is 30—matches that of Swift and Gyllenhaal when they started dating. The film launches Friday, November 12 at 7 p.m. EST.
The film was written and directed by Swift herself, while Rina Yang led the project's cinematography. In preparation for the film's release, Swift wrote on Instagram, "Plan your watch parties or grab your blanket and curl up into a ball. However you want to watch All Too Well The Short Film, it’ll be out tomorrow on YouTube at 7pm Eastern."
