Taylor Swift released two new bonus tracks from her Evermore album on Friday, and fans are convinced that one of them is about her former friendship with Karlie Kloss. In the song "it's time to go," the singer laments, "When the words of a sister, come back in whispers, that proves she was not, in fact, what she seemed." In another verse, she continues, “Not a twin from your dreams, she’s a crook who was caught.”

While Swift is not directly calling the model out by name, many believed that these lyrics were addressing the unanswered rumors about their private feud. The two were notably close for many years. Kloss even had her own room in the Reputation singer's New York City apartment. However, fans noticed in 2019 that the two had not been seen together for some time. Swift also did not attend either of Kloss' weddings to her husband, Josh Kushner

In August 2019, Page Six reported that the friends had fallen out after Kloss "took advantage of [Swift's] generous hospitality." A source for the outlet claimed that the Project Runway host invited friends over to Swift's home without asking permission, which upset the songstress and caused a major rift between the two. Representatives for both women denied this.

While she has never publicly commented on the state of her friendship with Kloss, the "Love Story" singer did take to Instagram to clarfiy the meaning behind her songs. "The evermore deluxe album with 2 bonus tracks 'right where you left me' and 'it’s time to go' is now available!" she wrote in the caption. "The first is a song about a girl who stayed forever in the exact spot where her heart was broken, completely frozen in time. 'it’s time to go' is about listening to your gut when it tells you to leave. How you always know before you know, you know?"
