Zendaya Advised Not to Date Tom Holland While Filming 'Spider-Man' Movies
Darling couple of the moment, Zendaya and Tom Holland received advice from producer Amy Pascal to not start dating while filming Spider-Man.
There's no doubt that Tom Holland and Zendaya are Generation Z's new favorite couple. What you probably didn't know is that the protagonists of Spider-Man: No Way Home, history's second highest-grossing film, were advised by producer Amy Pascal not to be a couple.
In a recent interview, Pascal revealed that she called the actors during the recording of the first Spider-Man and mentioned previous relationships between actors who had played Peter Parker and MJ prior.
“I took Tom and Zendaya separately when we hired them for the first time and gave them a talk," Pascal said. She recalls telling both Holland and Zendaya "Don't do it, just don't do it. Don't try."
The first Spider-Man couple begins with Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst. The pair began dating during the filming of the first film in the franchise, Spider-Man. The pair didn't stay together long and split before filming the second Spider-Man film.
Pascal gave the same advice to Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone while filming The Amazing Spider-Man, but obviously her advice was not taken as the couple began dating after filming and like Maguire and Dunst, split before filming their second Spider-Man film.
Although fans of Holland and Zendaya are hoping the pair will have a different outcome than the Spidermen and MJ's before them, Pascal states that dating a cast member "can complicate things," but her leading actors continue to ignore her advice.
