The Chanel ambassador will star in new an upcoming series from the creator of Euphoria.
Lily-Rose Depp is getting ready to make her big television and streaming debut. The daughter of Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis has been chosen to star alongside The Weeknd in a new series developed by HBO titled The Idol.
The series was created by the singer—born Abel Makkonen Tesfaye—and Sam Levinson, who was largely responsible for the success of Euphoria. The story will follow a pop singer who engages in an affair with a mysterious club owner who is also the leader of a secret cult. Although there is no official announcement on which characters the stars will play, it is expected that Depp and Tesfaye will take the roles of singer and club owner, respectively.
Reza Fahim, a former nightclub manager turned writer and also a production partner to The Weeknd is also involved and will bring his experience in the club scene to the story. Joseph Epstein will act as showrunner and writer for the series.
Although TV is new to her, it's worth remembering that Lily is also already experienced in movies. She starred in Voyeurs with Tye Sheridan and Fionn Whitehead and is currently slated for a role in Silent Night.
