"The Guilty"

Jake Gyllenhaal and Ethan Hawke team up in The Guilty, a new thriller coming to Netflix on October 1. In the film, a police detective is demoted to dispatch duty and sets out to save a caller. It is adapted from a 2018 Danish movie of the same name. Even if crime flicks aren't your thing, check it out for the handsome leading men.

"Maid"

Margaret Qualley stars in this limited series, based on a best-selling memoir. In the show, Qualley's character becomes a housecleaner in order to make ends meet for her daughter and herself in the midst of escaping an abusive relationship. It will be available to stream on Netflix on October 1.

"The Many Saints of Newark"

Any fans of The Sopranos? The long-awaited prequel movie, The Many Saints of Newark is hitting HBO Max on October 1. "Justin Bieber: Our World"

Amazon Prime is making a business of music documentaries. Their latest work is Justin Bieber: Our World, a pandemic-era look at the world-famous pop star. "Madame X"

Packed concerts seem so distant to us now. But, before the pandemic shut down such gatherings, Madonna managed to film a number of shows on her 2019-2020 tour Madame X. Now, that footage will be released in a concert film of the same name which focuses on her performance in Lisbon, Portugal. A trailer for the film shows costumes and backup dancers galore, and announces, as Madonna herself has often done, "Artists are here to disturb the peace." Madame X will be available to stream on Paramount+ on October 8.

"You" Season 3

The third season of the thriller will arrive on Netflix on October 15. Last we saw Joe, played by Penn Badgley, he was up to his usual murderous ways, but this time with a lady lover. In season 3, the couple retires to the suburbs with their new baby. Joe faces the challenges that come along with parenthood and being a serial killer.

"Succession" Season 3

The Roy family returns to the small screen this October with more drama and infighting than ever. Picking up where last season's fallouts ended, fans will see how the family company adjusts after major structural changes. A number of new faces and characters will be joining the cast, including Adrien Brody and Alexander Skarsgard. The new season premieres on HBO starting October 17.

"Night Teeth"

In this pre-Halloween flick, a college student posing as a chauffeur picks up two girls with more bloodthirsty intentions than he accounted for. Taking place over the course of one night in L.A., the film's cast includes Sydney Sweeney, Megan Fox, Debby Ryan, and Lucy Fry. It hits Netflix on October 20, just in time for those looking to get into the spirit of the spooky season.

"Dune"

This highly anticipated sci-fi thriller was postponed due to the pandemic, but will finally be released this October in theaters and on HBO Max. It stars nearly every celebrity under the sun, but Timothee Chalamet and Zendaya most prominently. Based on the popular book of the same name, the story follows a young man who must face extreme hardship to become an intergalactic leader. It will be available to stream on October 22.

"Last Night In Soho"

In this glamourous thriller, Eloise, an aspiring designer, is magically able to travel back to the 1960s. There, she meets a singer named Sandie who exposes her to a much darker world. The film is directed by Edgar Wright and stars Anya Taylor-Joy, Matt Smith, and Thomasin McKenzie. Based on early looks at the movie, it promises to be as much about style as it is substance, for those who enjoy a bit of fashion with their films. It hits theaters on October 29.
