Everything to Know About 'Emily in Paris' Season 4
If you've been missing the French-filled faire, have no fear — Emily in Paris Season 4 is (almost) here.
Bonjour! Grab your croissants and catch up on those Duolingo French lessons because Emily in Paris is back, and there is buzz about what's to come for Season 4. This year, the hit Netflix series gets more dramatic, the fantasy continues to live on, and Emily Cooper’s style is ever-evolving.
Who will be in the cast of season four?
The show has not had any significant shakeups regarding its regular cast. We can assume that Lily Collins will be back as Emily Cooper, and that Ashley Park, Lucas Bravo, Camille Razat, and Lucien Laviscount will be returning as Mindy, Gabriel, Camille, and Alfie, respectively. But with every new season comes a new character, and in May it was announced that Eugenio Franceschini will be joining the cast as a new potential love interest for Emily. The 32-year-old actor from Verona was spotted filming alongside Lily Collins in Rome, proving that the Parisian show will be taking a trip to another city this season.
What's the plot?
*Warning, spoilers ahead*
Like all the other seasons, Season 3 ended on quite the cliffhanger as Gabriel and Camille's wedding came to an unexpected halt as the bride stopped the wedding and confessed that Gabriel was in love with Emily. This ended Alfie and Emily's relationship as we know it. But the real twist was Camille sharing that she was pregnant, with who we assume is Gabriel's baby. Followed by the drama-filled finale, we can expect the new season to pick up where it left off.
"Season 4 is going to be more about navigating complicated relationships; personal relationships and work relationships, and how they come into conflict with each other," show creator Darren Star told TV Guide. "Emily is still going to be working with Alfie, Gabriel, and Camille. Those work relationships are really fraught with emotional conflicts."
Another unexpected twist? Emily in Paris can hereby be known as Emily in Rome, as Collins teased at a Netflix event that Emily may find herself on a Roman holiday.
When's the release date?
The fourth season will be released in two parts — the first on August 15 and the second on September 12 — according to a video with the cast on Netflix's socials.
In the video, the cast was asked to describe the upcoming season in three words, with responses ranging from "Not finished yet" to simply "Revenge." Alfie actor Lucien Laviscount stated it is "chaotic" and "heartbreaking," while lead star Lily Collins shared it is "vulnerable" and "adventurous." Luc actor Bruno Gouery even hinted at the potential Roman getaway, describing the season with the Italian word for beautiful, "belleza."
With two installments, it seems like we will have double the suspense as we await the adventures of Emily and her friends this summer.
Where is the trailer?
The first official trailer for Season 4 was released on July 22nd, and it promises a season full of action and drama. A freshly single Emily is hoping to enjoy time on her own, and to look for new romance, but she continues to be swept into conflict with Gabriel. Plus, her social media presence is causing issues at work as her breakup with Alfie makes waves online. Caught between her unresolved feelings for both Alfie and Gabriel, it looks like the first part of Season 4 will keep us on our toes, and maybe the second part will bring in some new faces.
