Travis Kelce's Stylist Debunks Viral Taylor Swift Curtain Pants Theory
One thing to know about Travis Kelce's outfits? They never go out of style.
Perhaps one of the most entertaining things to come out of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's apparent relationship is the number of conspiracy theories that have followed. One of the most viral ones has to do with those pants.
Last month, Kelce arrived at his Kansas City Chiefs game wearing a pair of brown crushed velvet pants, immediately leading Swifties to make comparisons to the bronzed curtains in the background of Swift's “Midnights Mayhem With Me” TikTok series from 2022. This of course sparked the joke of "Kelce is wearing Swift's curtain pants" that has circulated the internet.
So was there any truth to the curtain pants theory? Kelce's stylist, Danielle Salzedo, addresses the theory once and for all, calling it nothing more than a coincidence.
“They are playful, polished, and cozy, which Travis always does so well,” Salzedo told Us Weekly. “I don’t have the answer to the [curtain theory].
“However, when people authentically connect, they start to have those serendipitous coincidences," she continued.
Salzedo also added that Kelce has a “clear vision for his personal aesthetic," as he tends to style himself with her assistance and has a penchant for designer clothing such as from Louis Vuitton, Thom Browne, and KidSuper.
“I know what he likes, and I find him options with brands we know are his vibe — while also looking for new ones yet to be discovered,” she said.
On the subject of KidSuper, another fashion theory was the NFL star paid homage to Swift when he stepped out in KidSuper's "1989 Bedroom Painting Set." Salzedo also debunks that conspiracy, stating Kelce already had the set "in his closet," but she adds, "I love the narrative being drawn to his looks."
With Kelce's impeccable ability to never go out of style, his approach to fashion is noteworthy. On how he does it, Salzedo said, "He dedicates time to buying online, so he knows what’s out there and what’s new. He spends a significant amount of time on different retail and designer sites looking for new pieces and shopping."
She continued: "He’s bought pieces before we can even contact the brand to secure the items. He plays a lot with monochromatic sets as well as oversized [looks]. He doesn’t shy away from mixing prints in unexpected ways."
