NYC Welcomes R13’s New Flagship Store

The luxury brand we know and love has finally made a home for itself in the States.

Chris Leba founded the ready-to-wear brand, R13 in 2009. Since then, the company has had the goal to create luxury basics that recall the rebellious spirit of America's history. Yet, there has never been a US storefront for the fashion house– that is, until now. The new flagship R13 store, located at 34 Howard Street in SoHo, New York, is here to stay.

The retail space takes customers on a journey through endless contradictions. The space is elevated, yet has a raw edge aligned with the brand's DNA. Leba took a minimalist approach to his design work, incorporating exposed brick and concrete into the space. In addition, five modular racks are installed on the opposing side of the store that feature LED screens with flashing imagery. Check out a sneak peak of what’s in store in the images below.

Several styles that customers have been lusting over are housed in the store's sleek New York-style setting. We heard from the designer himself, and this is what he had to say about his newest accomplishment: "The reason why I decided to open up a retail store in Soho is because I wanted to create an innovative shopping experience for customers… I'm most excited to see the glass door installed in the rear of the store later this summer, and I can't wait to see our customers’ reactions as they access the garden in the back. They will experience what we call at R13 endless contradictions."
