The Year of Onitsuka Tiger

According to the Chinese calendar, each year corresponds to a specific zodiac sign: Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Goat, Monkey, Rooster, Dog, and Pig. Each with its own characteristics and difficulties (2020 for example, Year of the Rat, was described as the bearer of great upheavals while 2021, Year of the Ox, would have given patience and strength), the Chinese horoscope involves—for charm and tradition—almost the whole world that punctually stops to observe and celebrate together with the Asian people. With a 12-year cycle, 2022 is the Year of the Tiger (an animal that embodies strength, courage, and impulsiveness but also impulsiveness) and the premises are sparkling: months full of ups and downs await us, we must prepare! How? Legends say that wearing something that resembles the zodiac sign brings good luck.

Precisely for this reason the Japanese fashion brand Onitsuka Tiger presents a collection to celebrate the Year of the Tiger, not only a zodiac sign but also an icon of the brand. Contemporary and innovative, the collection combines fashion and sport by offering a selection of fun and animalier colored garments. For him and for her, the capsule consists of matching track tops and track pants, zip-up shorts and sweatshirts, ultra-feminine slip dresses, and t-shirts represented by a roaring tiger face. Final gem—and obviously, unmissable—the Onitsuka Tiger Serrano (with matching socks).

To usher in the Year of the Tiger and celebrate the launch of the capsule, Onitsuka Tiger presented a roaring OOH 3D animation at the Pavilion Mall in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The latter features a female avatar in the latest Spring/Summer 2022 collection that transforms into a tiger, marking the space with Onitsuka Tiger's signature stripes before jumping off the screen.
