3 Trends from Louis Vuitton's Star-Studded Dinner Party in Malibu
Bubblegum pink, poppy red, silver, and sunshine yellow—Louis Vuitton's Malibu Dinner was almost as colorful as the California sunset.
Bright Colors
Whether it was an outfit or accessories, bright colors were rampant.
Emma Roberts' outfit was an array of candylicious colors. The 30-year-old starlet wore a Louis Vuitton striped cardigan in shades of pink and blue that gave off major retro '90s vibes. She paired that with a high-waisted, royal purple skirt featuring a thigh-high split, completing the look with color block wedge boots and a matchy-matchy bubblegum pink handbag.
We can't talk trends without mentioning stylist extraordinaire Jamie Mizrahi, who was unmissable in a stunning, sunshine yellow number featuring a high neck and voluminous bubble skirt that injected some serious drama into the ensemble. The stylist didn't stop there, with a pop of blue on her ultra-chic wedge boots as well.
Award-winning filmmaker Ava DuVernay got in on the color trend as well. Her black and tan ensemble was accessorized with a bright red handbag to compliment the pop of red on her pants.
The best way to make a black and white outfit pop? Add a splash of color. Actress Victoria Pedretti opted for a bright, sunshine yellow handbag that worked perfectly against the black and white look paired with high boots, adding a little fun to the edgy cool-girl look.
Oversized Knits
Oversized knits were all the rage with Miranda Kerr, Emma Chamberlain, and Alana Haim all getting in on the trend.
Internet personality and It Girl Chamberlain was seen wearing an oversized oatmeal knit sweater over a white dress. Showing just a peek of the collarbone, she completed the preppy-cool-girl outfit with a bubblegum pink Louis Vuitton shoulder bag.
British actress Emma Laird was seen sporting an oversized Louis Vuitton cable knit cardigan in a dark navy blue with trumpet sleeves. She styled the look with Western-style boots with white and orange color blocks. A bold, graphic print added a dose of drama to the quirky, stylish look.
Supermodel Miranda Kerr had on a statement olive green coat over her black dress with gold zip accents. The former Victoria's Secret Angel completed the look with pointed white Louis Vuitton pumps.
Haim, one-third of the eponymous pop/rock trio, wore a baby blue cut-out sleeve pullover from Louis Vuitton's Fall/Winter 2021 collection.
Metallics
Some of Hollywood's biggest names were seen donning metallics. Most notably, Chloë Grace Moretz and Jaden Smith were spotted wearing structured, wide-shouldered metallic printed jackets reminiscent of the '80s.
Grace Van Patten wore a shimmering, oversized, single-buttoned vest over an abstract metallic zebra print top. The little zebra print handbag gave the look a '90s twist, and a pair of knee-high boots and shorts showed a little skin.
Metallics were also featured in model/actress Camila Morrone's custom Louis Vuitton look. She was a vision of sheer elegance in a high waist, jacquard maxi skirt, black crop top, and black pumps. Her bodycon skirt was accessorized with a bow and crystal embellishment. Morrone also paired the look with a pair of Urban Twist Pumps featuring a metallic silver tip.
English actress Emilia Jones went all out in silver with matching futuristic separates. The metallic ribbed knit crop top and trumpet hem skirt made a statement of their own.
