Summer is on its way, and in addition to preparing your cutest bikinis, pairs of sunnies, and gorgeous sundresses, it may be time to refresh your manicures as well. Luckily, it's easy to transition from a springtime nail trend to a set that's perfect for summer. Both seasons call for bright colors, audacious patterns, and fun designs that are in line with a warmer wardrobe.

Perhaps you need a slight refresh from your Hailey Beiber-inspired pearl nails, or maybe you're looking for something simple, elevated, and timeless. Regardless of your taste and preferences, here are 10 nail trends to try for summer 2024.

Cat-Eye French Nail

If you're unfamiliar with the cat-eye nail trend, it essentially employs a velvety and shimmery finish that gives your nails dimension and depth. It's essentially meant to replicate the beauty of a cat's iris. However, if you find that your taste leans a little too minimalistic for this trend, try the design on just the tips. A French manicure, while classic, is also fun to play with and experiment with.

Nonicure

You heard correctly, a "nonicure" or a manicure with no polish, is all the rage as it was seen donned by several celebrities at the Oscars including Best Actress winner Emma Stone and Award presenter Zendaya. While it may seem perplexing, the goal of this look is to achieve a clean and fresh set of nails that are easy to maintain. In addition to properly cleaning your cuticles and nailbeds, finishing off a nonicure with a clear polish or a top coat will give your nails that feminine and elevated feel you're looking for in a manicure.

Press-on nails

Using press-on nails may seem like the antithesis of a manicure, and while you may view press-on as a last-ditch option, it's a great way for nail art beginners or those who don't have the time or funds for a manicure to have an amazing set of nails still. Press-on nails have come a long way, and some luxury brands, such as Emilio Pucci, sell sets of them. Some of the best press-ons brands are Olive & June and Glamnetic.

French Ombre Nails

French ombre nails, a.k.a. a transparent French manicure, may look like a classic French manicure style at first glance. However, if you take a closer look, you'll see that the white tip seamlessly blends with the nude nail color, rather than there being a harsh separation of color between the tip and the rest of the nail. This is a great nail design to transition to if you still want the look of a pear nail but with a slight twist.

Bow Nails

Bow nails have had their moment since the resurgence of coquette-core and they don't seem to be going away anytime soon. This adorable nail design will perfectly match your fun and flirty summer ensembles.

Hot Pink Tips

As said before, a French manicure can be manipulated to fit your aesthetic needs. For this manicure, replace the common white tip of a French manicure with a hot pink tip. This design is perfect for those who want something bold but don't want to commit to painting their full nail a fiery color just yet. If hot pink isn't your style, the tip can be painted any color you please—pperhaps a lime green or a light Easter blue?

Pink chrome nails are one of this season's most sizzling nail trends. This Barbie-inspired style is easy to pull off and complements all ages and skin tones, capturing the essence of the season flawlessly.

Russian Manicure

Diverting from nail designs, the Russian manicure is a technique that entails a thorough elimination of cuticles, enabling the nail technician to meticulously apply polish even beneath the nail's surface. This manicure method has been all the rage this year, with celebs like Zendaya and Kendall Jenner employing the technique on their nails. The result is a polished, flawless finish with exceptional durability, often lasting three to four weeks, surpassing the typical two-week longevity of standard manicures.

If you're on the lookout for another nail look inspired by reigning trend queen Hailey Bieber, these glow-in-the-dark nails are bound to be a conversation starter. Created by nail artist Zola Ganzorigt, the style remains a favorite of celebrities. In addition to Bieber, she does nails for Sabrina Carpenter and Sydney Sweeney as well.
