Since the days of learning and performing dance videos on TikTok, Doja Cat had us dancing to her viral song “Say So,” a pop song featuring elements of ‘70s disco and pop rap, captivating us with an era of funk. The rapper and singer rapidly became a sensation in the music industry for creating music-driven content that gained popularity across all social media platforms, especially on TikTok. Her humorous personality and online persona juxtaposed with her incredibly bold visual presence has made Doja Cat a sensational artist.

In her cover interview with L'OFFICIEL, Doja Cat speaks on one of these over-the-top beauty moments, specifically when she places lashes everywhere except where they traditionally go at the Viktor and Rolf Spring/Summer 2023 show.
"Because naturally, I love to respond to hate, I found it to be really funny if I were to put lashes all over my face. This was because when I did the Schiaparelli crystal look, I went on Instagram after we posted it and I was reading comments and some people were horrified and some people were like, 'I feel like it needs a lash. I feel like it needs something else, she just doesn't look pretty,'" she said. "And I thought that was so funny because you don't go to a museum and look at a painting and say, 'I wish it had more blue or they should've put a Spongebob sticker on it.' You know, it was art. And that's what me and Pat [McGrath] did together, we did a painting, we did a piece of art, we did a sculpture. So I wanted to respond in the biggest f*ck you that I could, and that was putting lashes everywhere but the places they wanted me to put it."
