We’re not even kidding: more and more, doctors are recommending that we drink a glass of red wine a day. When done in moderation, it turns out that the benefits on the mind (and the soul) are many! Here are just some of the positive effects.
Benefit No. 1: It Keeps The Brain Healthy
Several scientific studies have shown that the daily consumption of red wine (in moderation, of course) can help prevent dementia and other degenerative diseases. In fact, red wine can cure inflammation, prevent arteriosclerosis and prevent coagulation.
Benefits No. 2: It Fights Fatigue
We all know that a good glass of red wine can be the perfect thing for when you’re feeling a little tired and run-down. Now, it’s been proven! A study published by The FASEB Journal has shown that the resveratrol in grapes help fight physical weakness and apathy.
Benefit No. 3: It Increases Endorphins
A University of California study has shown how much wine has an effect on relaxation and happiness. This is because the substance helps release our body’s endorphins. But, maybe we knew that already.
Benefit No. 4: It Reduces Cholesterol
Rich in polyphenols, red wine helps a lot in preventing cholesterol. In fact, it also has the ability to reduce build-up as well as fight clots thanks to its high levels of antioxidants.
Benefit No. 5: It Helps with the Cardiovascular System
Rich in vitamin E, red wine also helps to ‘clean’ the blood, prevent clots and protect blood vessel tissue. Not bad, right?
Benefits No. 6: It Reduces the Risk of Cancer
As previously mentioned, red wine contains antioxidants. Because of this, it has several benefits including the ability to block to abnormal growth of cells that cause breast and lung cancer. Resveratrol is a most particularly helpful element in this process.
