Tom Holland Calls Zendaya 'My MJ' in Birthday Tribute
The pair recently made their relationship public after years of being romantically linked.
While Zendaya's past romantic relationships have always been kept under wraps, she seems to have changed her tune with her current boyfriend and Spider-Man co-star Tom Holland.
On her birthday, the Marvel actor posted what seems to be an on-set photo taken by the actress herself of the two in their characters' wardrobes. He wrote in the caption, "My MJ, have the happiest of birthdays. Gimme a call when your up xxx."
Fans have speculated about the co-stars being an item for years, however, only recently was the relationship seemingly confirmed by Page Six in July of this year when they were spotted leaving Zendaya's Los Angeles home and later kissing in the car. They also attended a wedding together last month and were photographed holding hands. Neither Zendaya nor Holland has directly confirmed the relationship.
Dating rumors about the couple began in 2017 after filming Spider-Man: Homecoming together. The two poked fun at those rumors on Twitter, more or less denying their accuracy. In 2019, Zendaya was spotted with her Euphoria co-star Jacob Elordi on vacation in Greece and later cozying up in New York the following year. However, the relationship seemed to fizzle during the COVID-19 pandemic as Elordi is now happily dating Kaia Gerber.
In July 2020, Holland made his relationship with model Nadia Parks Instagram official. While it's unclear when the relationship ended, Holland's romantic encounter with Zendaya a year later made it clear that he and Parks were no more.
The actors follow a history of Spider-Man characters going from on-screen love interests to real-life romances. Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst from the original trilogy began dating while filming the first installment but broke up before shooting began on the second. Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone, who played opposite each other in The Amazing Spider-Man, were together from 2011 to 2015.
