Taylor Swift is in Her Directing Era
Taylor Swift is going from the big stage to the big screen with her feature directorial debut.
Only a few weeks after the successful release of her Midnights album, Taylor Swift is taking on the big screen as a director. According to Variety, the "Lavender Haze" singer has already written an original script for a project in collaboration with Searchlight Pictures. Details such as the plot, cast list, release date, and production period are still unknown, but having secured such an acclaimed artist to be at the helm of the project already has already left fans in high anticipation.
The Grammy winner has had a few ties with Hollywood over the years after having appearances in films such as Valentine's Day, Cats, and most recently Amsterdam.
While Swift has the star quality to shine on screen, it's clear that directing has a stronger hold on her heart. Her official directing debut came from the music video of her hit song, "The Man," followed by videos for "Cardigan" and "Willow."
She took her directing interests a step further for her 14-minute short film All Too Well, starring Sadie Sink and Dylan O'Brien, which Swift wrote, directed, and co-produced. In an Instagram post, Swift shared behind-the-scenes footage of the project along with explaining how much of a joy the process was.
In the caption, she said, "The first seeds of this short film were planted over ten years ago, and I’ll never forget the behind-the-scenes moments of the shoot. I owe everything to [Sadie Sink], Dylan O’Brien, my incredible DP [Rina Yang] and my producer [Saul Germaine]. I also want to say thank you to our wonderful background actors and crew who made this story come to life so naturally. I loved every second of it and I will always remember it. All. Too. Well. The behind the scenes footage of ATW the short film is out now!"
