The 'Sweat Tour' Is Over. Here Are Charli XCX's Best Moments
Her and Troye Sivan's 22-city run was unmissable this fall, as they kept "Brat" summer alive and well.
A specific shade of chartreuse was particularly unmissbale this summer, thanks to Charli XCX. When the English singer dropped her Brat ablum in June, it became this summer's vibe, providing anthems like "360," "Girl, so confusing" with Lorde, and "Apple." What happened as "brat summer" ended? Her joint tour with Troye Sivan started.
Charli's "Sweat Tour" kicked off mid-September and stopped at 22 cities. Its last show, which happened on Wednesday night, closed out in Seattle. Each performance turned into a rave-like celebration, with Charli's industrial, "brat" aesthetic that blended perfectly with Sivan's sensual vibe and choreography. Sivan performed much of his 2023 album Something to Give Each Other. The chemistry between the two artists shined during their shared moments on stage, where they revisit collaborations like “1999” and “Talk Talk."
Although the tour itself was somewhat brief, at least compartively, it packed a punch with virality online from surprise celebrity appearances to unexpected fan interactions caught on the big screen. Plus, The Guardian cheekily dubbed it a "two-plus hours of uppers-only music that delivered on the promise of loud, horny, personality-forward pop."
Some of our favorite moments include when Charli brought out Addison Rae and Lorde in New York. (Both artists are featured on her remix album, which also revealed a surprise cameo from Julian Casablancas.) In Los Angeles, Sivan brought TikToker Vinnie Hacker to the stage to be the guest of honor in receiving his "One of Your Girls" chair dance. It was just about as good as when Sivan did the same to Ross Lynch at his own concert earlier in the year.
The "Sweat Tour" quickly became a hub for fashion experimentation for showgoers as well the stars themselves. Charli opted for everything from club-kid looks to more edgy and shredded fabrics. Sivan sometimes channeled his signature aura, pairing tank tops with baggy jeans or assless chaps. Othertimes, for example, he shut down the stage in corseted tops and leather pants. See some more standout looks in the gallery below.
Both artists' albums featured on tour—including Charli's Brat and Sivan's Something to Give Each Other—revel in themes of liberation and identity. Both also achieved commercial successf, scoring multiple placements on Billboard's Top 100 and racking in millions of streams.
At the final show, Charli sported a daring, white shredded dress—a nod to her avant-pop style—and Sivan playfully danced "Bloom" choreography, keeping the bittersweet audience on their toes all night. For many, being at "Sweat" was more than just a concert, but an experience and cultural moment that'll last for years to come. No wonder fans online are begging for it to come to Europe.
