The Spice Girls Reunited to Celebrate Victoria Beckham's 50th Birthday
And they all look exactly the same.
On Saturday, the designer Victoria Beckham, who was famously known as Posh Spice back in the '90s, celebrated her birthday with her two families—David Beckham and their children, and her Spice Girls bandmates. In a post via David Beckham's Instagram, the four other members of the Spice Girls, Melanie Chisholm, Emma Bunton, Melanie Brown, and Emma Bunton, can be seen celebrating their beloved Victoria by going back in time and singing their biggest hits, including the 1997 hit single "Stop." In the video David posted of the band reminiscing about their Spice Girls era, he wrote a playful caption that read, "I mean come on x @victoriabeckham @melaniecmusic @officialmelb @emmaleebunton @gerihalliwellhorner" with a rainbow of heart emojis alongside the text.
Victoria herself took to Instagram to show her gratitude and appreciation for her best friends and fellow Spice Girls with a post of all five of the women and a caption that read, "The best gift to be reunited!! Thank you to all my friends and family for celebrating with me. Kisses! xxx."
This isn't the first time we've seen the band all in one room, as after Geri's farewell from the brand in the late '90s and their eventual breakup in the early 2000s, they've gone on to reunite for several reunion performances, one of which took place during the Summer 2012 London Olympics.
A source recently told the Daily Mail that the reunion "meant the world" to Beckham. "They were a huge part of her life, and they shared so much together. These were special days and so of course to have them there to mark her 50th was just wonderful for her. It made everything so perfect,” the insider added.
If you're feeling a wave of nostalgia, not to worry: there may be a reunion tour in the works. Mel B reportedly shared Victoria's post and captioned it "About last night #tourdatescommingsoon."
However, it must be said that a reunion tour has been teased quite a few times in the 2010s, and the plan hasn't come to fruition just yet.
In 2023, The Independent reported a statement Mel B made regarding Victoria's presence at a reunion tour. “She was really busy doing her fashion line and supporting David with his moves and his career and obviously she’s got a bunch of kids so it’s just about finding the right time. We’ve managed to do that so there should be an announcement pretty soon,” the singer said about Beckham.
