Are Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas Dating Again?
The couple aren't legally divorced yet since Joe Jonas filed for divorce late last year.
Since Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas announced their split on September 6, 2023, Not many developments have come about since then. Recent updates prove that their divorce is nowhere close to wrapping up, and as per Entertainment Tonight, a judge has asked Jonas's legal team to "pick up the pace"; otherwise, their case may be thrown out.
The couple first announced parting ways with a joint statement posted to both their Instagram accounts in early September.
“After four years of wonderful marriage we have mutually decided to amicably end our marriage,” read the statement. “There are many speculative narratives as to why but, truly this is a united decision and we sincerely hope that everyone can respect our wishes for privacy for us and our children.”
The Jonas Brother then proceeded to mention his separation during a concert on September 9.
“It’s been a tough week; I just want to say, look, if you don’t hear it from these lips, don’t believe it, OK?” Jonas said this during his concert at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles.
After Jonas filed for divorce, Turner stated in a recent interview with British Vogue that the days following were "the worst few days of my life."
Shortly after their separation, Turner sued Jonas for “wrongful retention” of the pair's children, Willa and Delphine. This came about due to Jonas initially agreeing for their daughters to go to England with their mother so they could return to “their habitual residence in England."
As per Today, the couple agreed to make England their permanent home before Jonas filed for divorce. The agreement placed before the divorce was filed detailed that as soon as Turner wrapped up filming her new drama series in the U.K., she would pick up her daughters from Jonas in the U.S. and take them back to England. Today also reported that after Turner learned of her husband's plan for divorce through news headlines, she still returned to the U.S. on September 17 and asked for her daughter to come back with her to England, to which Jonas refused.
The couple agreed to a temporary custody agreement for their daughters on October 10, and according to court documents, the two alternated custody of their children throughout the course of three months since agreeing.
During the legal complications and obvious strain between the ex-couple, Turner received the support of Taylor Swift, who is notably also Jonas's ex. In the British Vogue feature that will hit newsstands on May 21, Turner reportedly states, "Taylor [Swift] was an absolute hero to me this year; she took my children and me and provided us with a home and a safe space."
In the months after the divorce, Turner entered her single era and, per ET, called the dating scene "very fun."
"It's strange when you get married so young," said Turner to British Vogue. "It's like you never really learn how to date."
In the article, Turner also doubles down on Jonas's role as a parent and states, "Joe is a great father to our children, and that's all I can ask for."
But although the legal ugliness has calmed down between the pair, Turner filed a notice in March asking for their divorce proceedings to be reactivated. So for those of you who were fans of "Jophie," it seems that the chapter has come to an end for the actress and musician.
“I’m unhappy with the way everything played out, especially when it comes to my children,” added Turner.
