This is How Prince Harry Really Feels about the Royal Family and Life in America
After a hard year for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry is getting candid about how the rift in his family has impacted him. After resigning as an official member of the British royal family, according to a statement made by journalist and close friend, Tom Bradby, Harry resents the separation from the royal family, but is satisfied with the life he and his wife Meghan Markle have in the United States.
The Sussexes decided to leave their official positions early last year, motivated by disagreements with other members of the royal family. To minimize the exacerbated press attention, in the spring of 2020, the couple moved to Los Angeles with their son Archie.
"I think he is heartbroken by the situation with his family," says Bradby in an upcoming episode of Love Your Weekend with Alan Titchmarsh. “But are they unhappy? No, I don't think so. I think they are very happy indeed, but I think they are fighting their positions in life. I think they all do that."
When speaking with Bradby in 2019 while filming their documentary Harry & Meghan: An African Journey, the couple detailed the growing difficulties of dealing with the royal family since their marriage and the birth of their son. Meghan openly spoke about the difficulties of motherhood and being under such intense scrutiny by British tabloids. Harry, questioned about rumors of a fight with Prince William, said that "inevitably, things happen" due to the "pressure under which the family lives."
