For more than seven decades, Barbra Streisand has been one of the most successful women in the entertainment industry. Captivating the world with her unmatched talent, the famous singer got her start by performing in nightclubs and Broadway theaters in the early 1960s. Rapidly, Streisand became known for her unique style and talent, displayed in acclaimed musical films such as Funny Girl (1968) and A Star Is Born (1976).

Throughout her young years, Streisand laid the foundation for her unparalleled career. Surrounded by glitz and glam, the young American singer never stopped working; in the late 1990s she broke records with two hit albums Back to Broadway (1993) and Higher Ground (1997). Her level of stardom has been compared to that of Frank Sinatra, and she remains a living legend. Today, Streisand is one of three PEGOT winners in history, with Peabody, Emmy, Grammy, Oscars, and Tony awards to her name.

Amidst her success, the actress married Elliott Gould in 1963, who is the father of her only son, Jason Gould. The couple parted in 1971, and Streisand has been happily married to actor James Brolin for 22 years.
