Han So-Hee Announces Ryu Jun-yeol Break Up Using a Nicole Kidman Meme
The two stars who recently started dating have officially broken up.
South Korean actors Han So-hee and Ryu Jun-yeol have officially split, just a few weeks after confirming their relationship earlier in March. The news of their break-up was first reported by South Korean media outlets late in March and was later confirmed by official statements from both Han So-hee’s agency, 9ato Entertainment, and Ryu Jun-yeol’s agency C-JeS Studio.
The initial reveal of the two stars' romantic interest in one another was a controversial one; it was first revealed via a papparazzi shot of the two spotted on vacation in Hawaii, resulting in tabloid speculations on the couple's relationship. The news was later confirmed by Han So-hee herself, in her personal blog, a place where the actress communicates directly with her fans. Similarly, when news of the split broke, Han also seemingly confirmed the news on her blog by posting the viral photo of Nicole Kidman looking relieved and joyful when she divorced Tom Cruise back in 2001. By doing so, So-hee implied that she was relieved by the break-up and is now "free." However, the post was later deleted.
Later on, both 9ato Entertainment and C-JeS Studio released longer statements regarding the two actors' relationship and how it all transpired. "Han So-hee and actor Ryu Jun-yeol have broken up," stated Han's agency, "They realized that their roles as actors were greater. They have promised not to waste any emotions on personal matters any longer," they added.
The agency also apologized, saying that So-hee "has made both herself and the public suffer due to her personal feelings all this time. The way she communicated [with the public] was not right. She is sorry. She will duly receive whatever criticism [there is]. Moreover, our responsibility is huge for not being able to care for her as her agency." "The company failed in its role as being her home. We are reflecting. Although it is very late, we are trying to correct it from now on. We hope you will continue to watch over her. She will return in a healthier state," they concluded.
The public scrutiny on the two actors increased dramatically since the reveal of their romantic relationship and proved to be strenuous for both parties. Controversies also mounted when Han So-hee and Ryu's previous partner, actress Lee Hye-ri, were seemingly taking subliminal shots at each other through social media, though both parties apologized to one another. As of now, it looks like the dust has finally settled and all parties involved will be doing some healing from the ordeal.
