The beloved American actor is booked and busy this year, according to the plethora of his upcoming projects.&nbsp;

After enjoying a breakout role in&nbsp;Top Gun: Maverick&mdash;the second highest-grossing film in the world in 2022&mdash;Glen Powell has become one of the most sought-after actors in Hollywood, both by fans and producers.&nbsp;
To be a young, new actor in the past few years has been extraordinarily difficult, especially with the <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/pop-culture/famous-celebrity-children-young-hollywood" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Hollywood</a> writers' and actors' strikes and the impact of streaming services on box office numbers. Despite these roadblocks, Powell has persisted as one of the buzziest up-and-coming <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/pop-culture/who-is-harris-dickinson-actor-iron-claw" target="_blank" rel="noopener">actors</a> in the business, with a seemingly endless lineup of projects.&nbsp;
Although the reign of Powell began in 2023 with the release of Anyone But You&mdash;the rom-com starring <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/jimmy-choo-summer-2024-campaign-sydney-sweeney" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Sydney Sweeney</a> opposite Powell&mdash;the actor has shown no signs of slowing down this year. In the first half of 2024 alone, Powell has 3 movies slated to release. In two of these films,&nbsp;Hit Man and&nbsp;Twisters, Powell takes up the mantle of leading man&mdash;even one starring role can be a hefty time commitment for any seasoned actor&mdash;and in the third, The Blue Angels, Powell was a co-producer alongside <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/music/who-is-singer-songwriter-gracie-abrams-jj-abrams-daughter" target="_blank" rel="noopener">J.J. Abrams.&nbsp;</a>
2024 has already been a busy year for the actor, with plenty of premieres, awards shows, and on-set demands, but the future ahead for Powell looks even more jam-packed. Per The Hollywood Reporter, Powell has recently reunited with Abrams for the director's next major film project. Although many details surrounding the film have been kept under wraps at this time, fans have speculated another <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/film-tv/every-live-action-disney-princess-movie" target="_blank" rel="noopener">action</a> movie in the works for Powell, given Abrams' track record.
 Powell is also set to star in&nbsp;Monsanto, directed by John Lee Hancock. The legal drama follows a court case where bright, young lawyer Brent Wisner, played by Powell, opposes a major&nbsp; U.S. chemical manufacturer. The film also stars <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/film-tv/actresses-over-50-awards-nominations" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Laura Dern</a> and Anthony Mackie opposite Powell.&nbsp;
Another project in the works for Powell is&nbsp;The Running Man, director Edgar Wright's latest film.&nbsp;The Running Man is actually a reboot of a 1987 movie based on the popular Stephen King novel by the same name. The movie's plot follows a TV competition where contestants must flee killers on foot with the promise of massive cash prizes. This project marks Powell's first foray into the <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/film-tv/most-fashionable-horror-movies-style" target="_blank" rel="noopener">horror</a> and thriller genres, meaning fans have already predicted that this film will be a true testament to the actor's skill and versatility.&nbsp;
As the wave of 2024 projects led by <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/film-tv/new-must-watch-rom-coms-for-2024" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Powell</a> rolls out, fans are predicting that the actor will continue his streak.
