SHY Martin
SHY Martin

A fresh new face on our TGIF. Meet SHY Martin, whose heartfelt and vulnerable single, “can i call you back?” drops today. If you don’t know her name, you might know some of the music she’s written (“All We Know” by The Chainsmokers, and “I Wanna Know” by NOTD ft. Bea Miller, to name a couple). The Swedish sweetheart released her debut EP, Overthinking, in 2018, and has garnered a collective 150 million+ Spotify streams. So, what are you waiting for?

Jesse McCartney

That’s right, Jesse McCartney is back with his new single, “Yours.” The “Beautiful Soul” singer released his last album, The Resolution Tour Live in October of 2019, and his last studio album, In Technicolor, in 2014. Mr. McCartney also had his fair share of acting gigs (Suite Life of Zack and Cody, anyone?), appearing in Young & Hungry, and Chernobyl Diaries. “Yours” drops TODAY. Go listen.

Abby Jasmine
Abby Jasmine

Another fresh face on our TGIF is New York’s Abby Jasmine. The 21-year-old released her debut EP in 2018, and is dropping her new EP, Who Cares, on April 20. Just in case you can’t wait that long, the music video for “Groovy” ft. Guapdad4000 drops today. Originally making a name for herself on Vine and other social media platforms, Jasmine has developed a core following and has amassed almost 3 million global artist streams since her first EP dropped. Abby Jasmine is definitely someone to keep an eye on.

The 1975

The 1975 were supposed to bless us this month with their album, but alas, the date has been pushed back to May. As upset as I am, I will let it slide only because they haven’t left us high and dry—today, they’re releasing a single from the album, “Jesus Christ 2005 God Bless America.” I’ve decided not to try and read into this naming system and instead just embrace the beautiful music. However, if they push the album back one more time I will throw a fit.

Sam Hunt
Sam Hunt

A familiar face on our TGIF column! Sam Hunt is back this month with his new album, Southside. Originally, he was meant to head off on tour in advance of the LP, but alas, here we are. This is Mr. Hunt’s second album, and I, personally, have been looking forward to it since I listened to “House Party” on repeat for six months. Also, it’s been six years since his debut album. We deserve this.

PLS&TY

Another familiar face, PLS&TY is dropping his new EP, Very Special, today. The title track from the EP recently went viral on TikTok, with an influence reaching 20+ million. He even had his very own “Very Special” Snapchat filter. Do yourself a favour and see what all the hype is about.

All Time Low
All Time Low

Aw, All Time Low. Nothing quite like pop-punk to reminisce about the good old days when we were filled with teenage angst. The former high school band has come a long way since 2004. Today, they’re dropping their eighth studio album, Wake Up, Sunshine. Bless up.

Steve Aoki

A huge name in the electronic music scene, Steve Aoki is dropping his sixth studio album today. Neon Future IV, a follow up of his previous album, Neon Future III, is loaded with features, including Matthew Koma, the Backstreet Boys, Icona Pop, and Will.i.am. So, really, how could you not give it a listen?

Alesso ft. Liam Payne
Alesso ft. Liam Payne

A force to be reckoned with in the dance/electronic music realm, Alesso has paired up with former One Direction member Liam Payne for this new single, "Midnight." Payne, who just dropped his debut album at the end of last year, is following his in the footsteps of his fellow former bandmates who’ve branched out on solo careers. Swedish native Alesso has garnered nearly four billion streams. The single and music video are out (!) now!

The Strokes

Old reliable! The Strokes have decided to be amazing (on brand) and not push back their album release. Thank goodness for that. Their sixth (6th!) studio album, The New Abnormal, is slated for release on April 10th.

The Strokes
Luke Bryan
Luke Bryan

Another country musician on this list! Luke Bryan has been doing his thing since his first album came out in 2007. The American Idol judge has been both prolific and successful—Born Here, Live Here, Die Here is Bryan’s seventh studio album, and he’s had numerous #1 hit singles. Born Here, Live Here, Die Here is slated for release April 24th.

AWOLNATION

Maybe you haven’t listened to AWOLNATION since “Sail” (their first single, which went platinum). Maybe you have. Either way, AWOLNATION is back with their fourth album, Angel Miners & the Lightning Riders. Set to be released April 24th, this is an album you won’t want to sleep on.
