Ladies and gentlemen, we’re back. I can only assume you all were as relieved as I was that February finally ended, even though now March has led to us trying to figure out how to live our lives fully at home. But regardless, along with daylight savings and finally moving on past winter, this month brings a bunch of new music releases, from Lauv to Jessie Reyez to Sufjan Stevens. Music March, if you will. No? Ugh, whatever. Here’s your March TGIF, full of all the new music in March 2020 that you need to know. You’re welcome.

Donald Glover

Stop whatever you're doing (which I know was probably nothing, since we're all home now). As an amazing surprise in the middle of this crazy month, Childish Gambino slash Donald Glover decided to drop his new album 3.15.20 on March 22, and you should listen to it immediately. The 12-track album has some Very Cool features, including Ariana Grande and 21 Savage. It's been four years since his last album, so I'm going to go ahead and say it's been worth the wait.

Alec Benjamin
Alec Benjamin

Earlier this month, Alec Benjamin dropped a new single off of his upcoming album. “The Book of You & I” is Benjamin’s fifth single release from his debut album, These Two Windows, which is slated to drop May 29. He’s heading off on a UK tour with Lewis Capaldi soon and will be performing at Coachella for the first time later this year, so get ready to be hearing his name even more during music festival season

Phantogram

Phantogram is here with their fourth studio album, Ceremony. The duo comprises Sarah Barthel and Josh Carter, who are childhood friends that have been making music together since 2007. Ceremony was written, recorded, and produced in LA, partially at Rancho de la Luna studio, and partially at Barthel’s home studio, “Harmonie West.” Ceremony is out now. You’re welcome.

Lauv
Lauv

The moment has come. Lauv’s debut (!!) album, ~how i’m feeling~ is out now, and we couldn't be more excited. The 25-year-old started rising to prominence after the release of his single, “I Like Me Better,” which peaked at #27 on the Billboard Top 100 in September of 2018, a year and a half after the song’s release. Lauv makes relatable bops, and we love him for that. You'll surely be hearing his new album all over in 2020.

Grouplove

Alt-rock band Grouplove dropped a new album, Healer, this month. Healer is the band’s fourth studio album, coming three-and-a-half years after their last one, Big Mess. The band also kicks off a North American tour this month, starting in New Mexico. Healer's release date is March 13.

Peter Bjorn and John

Swedish indie pop/rock trio Peter Bjorn and John dropped their new album this month. Endless Dream will be the band’s ninth studio album. The band is celebrating two decades together, and embarks on their Endless Dream North American tour later this year, beginning in LA at the Teragram Ballroom. Endless Dream is out now.

The Weeknd

This month, The Weeknd dropped his fourth studio album, After Hours. The Canadian musician released his last EP almost two years ago in March of 2018, but thank God, he’s back already. After Hours is slated for release on March 20. The Weeknd was also the musical guest on Saturday Night Live on March 7, with Daniel Craig as the host (and Elizabeth Warren as a special guest).

Sufjan Stevens and Lowell Brams

For this latest album, Sufjan Stevens paired up with his stepfather (and business partner), Lowell Brams. The new album is the result of jam sessions between Stevens and Brams; the pair took the best parts of the sessions and turned them into an album. Lucky for us! Aporia is set to be released on March 27.

Jessie Reyez

Jessie Reyez is set to bless us with her debut album, Before Love Came to Kill Us, on March 27. The Canadian singer was nominated for her first Grammy this year for her EP Being Human in Public. Her new album comes not long before Reyez kicks off the Before Love Came to Kill Us tour later this year.
