With releases from many of the most influential artists of the era in the works, 2024 is set to be one of the biggest years for music in recent history. With a full calendar of albums ranging from rap to electropop to country, you can be sure that you'll never run out of something new to listen to.

This is a particularly big year for the pop girls, with the release of albums by some of the most iconic names in the game, including Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande, and Dua Lipa. Whether you're looking forward to seeing your favorite pop star enter a new era or simply searching for the next song of the summer, there's no doubt that this year's albums will have something for everyone.

2024 albums like Kacey Musgraves' Deeper Wells and Beyoncé's Cowboy Carter led the country-folk craze that has been going strong all spring—and cowboycore doesn't seem to be slowing down anytime soon. With just a few months of the year down, it's possible that more artists will join the list with new country albums.

This year is also major for comeback albums, especially with the May release of Zayn Malik's highly anticipated album, Room Under the Stairs. Malik, who rose to fame as a member of the beloved boyband One Direction, enjoyed a successful solo career from 2015 to 2021 but went on hiatus following the release of Nobody is Listening in 2021. Malik has spent the past three years writing new music, enjoying a quiet life on his Pennsylvania farm, and co-parenting his daughter Khai with his ex-girlfriend Gigi Hadid. Fans have been eagerly awaiting a Zayn comeback, and the newest album marks an entirely new era and musical direction for the singer, which has led to its status as one of the most highly anticipated albums of the year.

Curious to know what you should be listening to this year? Tune in to L'OFFICIEL's comprehensive guide to all the new albums releasing in 2024 for announcements from your favorite artists.

On the process behind Cowboy Carter and her motivations for pursuing the genre, the "Texas Hold 'Em" singer wrote: “I did a deeper dive into the history of country music and studied our rich musical archive… the criticisms I faced when I first entered this genre forced me to propel past the limitations that were put on me.”
