Lil Nas X has confirmed suspicions that his costar was more than just a steamy music video counterpart.

We all remember those hot and heavy scenes from Lil Nas X's "That's What I Want" music video right? Well, it turns out the reason for all the easy chemistry was an off-screen relationship.&nbsp;
Lil Nas X recently made an appearance on Sirius XM to talk about his <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/music/lil-nas-x-drops-montero-album-gives-birth" target="_blank" rel="noopener">debut album drop</a>. The interviewers took this opportunity to sneak in a question about the singer's love life.&nbsp;
"There are rumors that the lovely actor in the music video is your boyfriend," prompted the radio DJ.
The boyfriend in question is Yai Ariza, a dancer living in Los Angeles. He's shown up in plenty of Nas' <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/music/best-moments-2021-mtv-vmas-lil-nas-x-olivia-rodrigo-doja-cat" target="_blank" rel="noopener">previous work</a>. He also locked lips with the singer on the BET Awards stage and licked his neck on Saturday Night Live, causing a <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/men/lil-nas-x-viral-moments-birthday-rapper" target="_blank" rel="noopener">frenzy across the internet</a> both times.&nbsp;
Last August, Nas announced to <a href="https://variety.com/2021/music/news/lil-nas-x-montero-industry-baby-1235038104/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Variety</a>&nbsp;that he was in love saying, "I&rsquo;ve found someone special now. I think this is the one. I can&rsquo;t explain it &mdash; it&rsquo;s just a feeling.&rdquo;

After the "That's What I Want" video dropped, Ariza took to Instagram to write, "Y&rsquo;alllll &hellip;. You guys don&rsquo;t know how happy i feel to be part of something so big and special 🦋 this is going to change lives !!!!! Huge Thank you to @lilnasx for making me part of your wonderful vision , you are so special, you deserve it all , love uuu 💕"
On SiriusXM, Nas answered the questioning about Ariza with, "We were dating, and we still are on very good terms, you know. We may date again in the future. I love him, he&rsquo;s amazing. I wanted to just focus on my music right now."
So it seems that while Ariza and Nas were a wonderful item, the two have gone their separate ways, at least for now. Nas made sure to add that Ariza was "literally the best person [he's] ever dated" and left the door open for the two to get back together at some point, as it seems to be a case of "right person, wrong time."&nbsp;
"I am still very much in love,&rdquo; he said, &ldquo;but I'm trying to manage, you know. If it&rsquo;s meant, it&rsquo;ll happen in the future. Life is long.&rdquo;
