What do you get when you combine LANY’s cool LA sound and Julia Michaels’s soft vocals? A guaranteed summer hit is what we’d guess. The alt-pop trio joined forces with Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter for “okay,” a chill track to enjoy while lounging on a sunny day, or to accompany your summertime sadness if that’s more your vibe.

The song was co-written by LANY frontman Paul Klein and Michaels, who met through mutual friends and wrote “okay” in only two days. Confined in the intimate environment of LA’s Conway Studios, the pair were inspired to let the feelings of their recent breakups out.

Through talking about their personal romantic turmoil, Klein told her “I'm gonna be okay. Right?” That sentence was enough to get their creative juices flowing, and became the song’s chorus. Both singers keep up a perfect harmony for the entirety of the track. Check it out for yourself below.

LANY are about to head out the North American leg of their 2019 World Tour, which will see the band perform 100 shows in total. Fans can purchase tickets here. Julia Michaels is also currently on tour, supporting Pink on her “Beautiful Trauma World Tour.”

“okay” is available to stream now on Apple Music, Spotify, iTunes, Amazon Music, Pandora and Google Play.
