Kelly Zutrau's Stylist Breaks Down Her Genius Abbey Road-Style Looks

The lead singer of Wet favors loose-fitting suits with bare feet as her signature on-stage look.

In case you were unaware, pop group Wet is fresh off of a great year. After making a musical comeback following the exit of guitarist Marty Sulkow, duo Kelly Zutrau and Joe Valle continued on without missing a mark. Wet put out their second LP, Still Run, in July, and then ventured on a UK tour with Florence and the Machine.

With touring comes carefully calculated performance looks, and that’s where Zutrau’s stylist, Yael Quint, comes in. Zutrau spoke about how her style has evolved since working with Quint.

“I like to hide a bit when I’m on stage because I get really nervous, so for a long time I wore huge t-shirts or sweatshirts," she said. "I never really felt comfortable in dresses on stage, but I wanted to do something more special that could add to the performance and the experience for the audience and for me. So when Yael started pulling these oversized suits, it felt like an elevated, exciting new version of what I’d been doing for a while.”

Ahead, Quint shares some of the looks the lead singer wore on tour, which consisted of the loose-fitting suits, worn exclusively with no shoes.

We gravitated towards this suit because of the fit: we both love a boxy men’s style suit, especially a Scandinavian fit! J. Lindeberg, a Swedish label now designed by Jens Werner, has some of my favorite fits and fabrics for the stage.

This isn’t Kelly’s first time wearing Khaite—she wore two Khaite NY suits during this particular week. This designer can seriously do no wrong. The big '70s-inspired lapels and thick-cuffed pant—not to mention that the beautiful crêpe fabric really attracts both Kelly and me! We are both huge fans of Khaite, and we were both at her first show in New York during Fashion Week.

We chose this suit because we love shoulder pads, a men’s fit, and anything '70s/'80s!

Kelly isn't afraid of color, and neither am I. We loved the way this light yellow suit looked when it was captured on camera! We also love a more loose-fitted pant.

The Scandinavians get the fit just right, so we always gravitate towards suits that are Norwegian, Danish or Swedish when in a fitting.

We chose this suit mainly because of the fit and pattern—again, it had that Scandi fit we loved.
