Inside Charli XCX's Surprise Times Square Performance and After Party
The Brat saga continues. Charli XCX and H&M hosted a surprise concert, drawing fashion's "it-girls" to Times Square and then to the Chelsea Hotel for afters.
Brat summer and the "Sweat Tour" may have ended, but Charli XCX's party girl energy isn't ceasing to keep fans on their toes. Monday night in New York City, the pop star held a surprise performance in Times Square.
The concert was free and open to any passerby. Fans were given less than an hour's notice from Charli and H&M to descend upon the center of the city, which was, of course, lit up with Brat green billboards. She performed a 15-minute set, wearing custom pieces by H&M. After all, she was on stage to celebrate H&M's holiday capsule collection and the re-opening of its Times Square storefront.
This isn't the first time the British pop singer has teamed up with H&M to usher in a party. They also kicked off London Fashion Week for Spring/Summer 2025, celebrating "365 party girl" music and style. Charli XCX also starred as one of the leading faces in H&M's Fall/Winter 2024 campaign.
She "is a special friend of H&M. Her spirt of innovation and inclusivity is exactly in step with our values," H&M Creative Advisor Ann-Sofie Johansson said in a press release. This show marked the last of the Swedish brand's pop-up performance event series. Its Times Square storefront is set to open November 21.
Though Charli xcx was in the spotlight, she was far from the only celebrity in attendance. Model Amelia Gray Hamlin hosted the glitzy afterparty, held at the iconic Chelsea Hotel where Anderson .Paak was on DJ. Charli joined, after an outfit change, of course.
