Did Azealia Banks Boil Her Dead Cat's Skull?

On Tuesday, singer Azealia Banks was once again trending on Twitter, however, instead of fighting with Grimes and Elon Musk, this moment in the digital spotlight centered around recent Instagram posts featuring her dead cat, Lucifer. In a now-deleted video, Banks appeared to dig up the skeleton of her deceased pet and boil its skull before incorporating it into what appears to be an altar. The shrine also features a bottle of Veuve Cliquot, a Chanel no. 5 perfume, a hundred dollar bill, a crucifix, and other assorted items.
In her original Instagram post, users can see Banks digging up a bag out of the ground. She says behind the camera, "The cat is in the bag." In the following video, Banks stirs a muddy pot which seems to include the skull of a small animal.
She captioned the post, "Lucifer 2009-2020. My Dear kitty. Thank you for everything. A legend. An icon. Forever a serval serve."
In the subsequent videos of the altar, Banks launches an expletive-filled rant explaining why she is leaving California for the East Coast, citing the recent wildfires and "gender identity crisis," while also admonishing fans who expressed concerns of animal abuse over her earlier troubling post. However, few were satisfied with her comments.
The Twitter account @DailyRapOutlet posted a screening recording of the original video, commenting, "I have no words for 2021 this is not the year."
Banks has yet to publicly comment on this further.
