Get ready to update your list of must-see shows, because this new fashion series is about to steal the spotlight. The New Look tells the story of the rise of Christian Dior amid French resistance to German occupation during World War II. The title is named after Dior's signature silhouette which presented a feminine, chic look and quickly rose to popularity.
The show will focus on Dior's conquering of the fashion world at a time when it was fully dominated by Coco Chanel and tell the story of the two designers' rivalry as they vied to take over the fashion world as it recovered from WWII. This legendary dispute between these two historic French designers is expected to be a prominent part of the new Apple TV+ series, coming to TV screens on February 14, 2024. The first three episodes will debut on Valentine's Day, followed by weekly episodes every Wednesday through April 3.
Drama and rivalry alongside impeccable, eye-catching costumes create the perfect recipe for a series expected to win over fashion's biggest lovers and historians. The series will also feature other large brands such as Balenciaga, Givenchy, Balmain, Pierre Cardin, and Yves Saint Laurent.
The series, filmed in Paris, will feature Ben Mendelsohn (Bloodline) as Christian Dior and Juliette Binoche (The English Patient) as Coco Chanel. The series is produced by Apple Studios and written, directed, and executive produced by Todd A. Kessler.
