Set against the backdrop of the political unrest that swept across the Korean Peninsula in 1987, the new television series Snowdrop stars Jung Hae-in and Blackpink's Jisoo, who makes her acting debut in this Korean period drama

Amid the democratic uprising—otherwise known as the June Democratic Struggle—Eun Yeong-ro (Jisoo) falls for a blood-soaked man (Hae-In) who bursts into the dormitory of her women's university in Seoul. Unaware that man holds a harrowing secret that could endanger her friends and family, Yeong-ro risks expulsion to tend to his wounds and hide him from his attackers.

Viewers can expect an emotional rollercoaster full of action, emotion, and romance as they follow the young lovers through the various obstacles they will have to persevere through together. Yeong-ro will go against her family and country to help the man she loves and the mysterious, while the wounded man will put everything on the line to save the one thing he loves more than his country.

Producers described the show's plot, "Snowdrop is a black comedy that satirizes the presidential elections taking place in 1980s under a military regime during the North-South tension on the Korean peninsula. It is also a melodrama about the young men and women who were victims of that situation."

Announced in October as part of the Walt Disney Company's APAC Content Showcase, Snowdrop will debut on December 18 on JBTC and Disney+.
