Blackpink Dominated Paris Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2022
The K-pop girl group is dominating the fashion world, starting with Paris.
Korean girl group Blackpink are currently enjoying one of the best moments in their careers. Along with groups like BTS, they are among the elite in K-pop, a musical style that attracts millions of devoted fans and smashes records all across the music industry. It's not surprising then that large firms are attracted by this phenomenon and utilize K-pop artists as the image for their brands.
Blackpink members Jisoo, Rosé, Jennie, and Lisa have become global ambassadors for the French brands Dior, Saint Laurent, Chanel, and Celine, respectively. For this reason, all throughout Paris Fashion Week, they have been arriving in the French capital to attend their respective shows.
The first to arrive in the city was Jisoo. Last Tuesday, the singer attended the Dior fashion show, where the designer Maria Grazia Chiuri presented the Spring/Summer 2022 collection. A collection inspired by Marc Bohan's Dior, who, through the Slim Look, broke with the brand's past and fully immersed her in ready-to-wear.
For the event, Jisoo wore an A-line dress with a black and white print from the Cruise 2022 collection. A small gold Lady Dior bag and black platform heels added the finishing touches to an elegant and sophisticated look.
After her debut at the Met Gala, Rosé was the second to arrive in Paris. Overlooking an illuminated Eiffel Tower, the Saint Laurent show saw the artist arrive in a black slip dress that radiated sensuality and elegance. The style was completed with high black leather boots and two gold pendants with pearls also from Saint Laurent, as well as two diamond rings from Tiffany & Co., for whom Rosé is also a global ambassador.
Jennie arrived in Paris to attend the Chanel show. As expected, the singer dressed from top to bottom in signature garments and accessories. A buttoned top and a mini skirt created a total look in red tweed to match a bag of the same color. The pearls and the belt were responsible for raising this set to another level.
This year, Celine has decided not to present a new collection at Paris Fashion Week, so Lisa has been the only member of the group who did not attend a show this season. Even so, she met with the rest of the group members in the French capital.
Upon arrival at the Parisian airport, the artist wore an outfit that combined the comfort of flared jeans with the elegance of Celine's Chasseur jacket. In addition, she dared to do the "Lalisa challenge," a dance challenge that has gone viral on TikTok after the start of Lisa's solo career.
It's irrefutable that K-pop is an overwhelming force and will not stop growing. We will continue to see Blackpink more and more present in the world of music and, of course, the world of fashion.
