The narrative tells the powerful story of Mary, Queen of Scotland (played by Saoirse Ronan),&nbsp;returning to England in an attempt to reclaim the throne and&nbsp;replace&nbsp;Queen Elizabeth I (who was&nbsp;also her cousin) as monarchical ruler of both lands. A momentous event&nbsp;in&nbsp;history, two extraordinary women fight&nbsp;for a position that was&nbsp;at the epicenter of world politics at&nbsp;that time -&nbsp;a time when&nbsp;feminism was not even a thought. The story is also recounted with an astonishing&nbsp;series of&nbsp;fashion productions from the sixteenth century when&nbsp;special attention was paid to dramatic&nbsp;necklines, silhouettes&nbsp;and&nbsp;elaborate textiles.
