Lindsay Lohan Makes an Unexpected Cameo in New 'Mean Girls' Movie

The original Cady Heron made a surprising appearance in the last few scenes of Mean Girls (2024).

While Lindsay Lohan did not follow in the footsteps of Tina Fey and Tim Meadows, original members of the Mean Girls (2004) cast who reprised the same roles in the remake, she certainly made a welcome appearance and even managed to pack a nostalgic, referential line into the last few scenes of the movie

After seeing Lohan on the carpet at the New York City premiere on January 8, 2024, just a short period before the movie was screened, fans speculated that she would make an appearance at some point in the film. Unsurprisingly, the prediction was accurate, and fans of the iconic film waited all the way until the second to last scene to watch Lohan make a cameo in a reprisal of one of her most well-known films. While Lohan may have originally been the one on the stage at the decisive Mathlete competition, in the most recent version, she played the role of the host at the state finals.

When the competition lands in a tie, Lohan tells the students, "Well, this has only happened once before," cheekily referencing her pivotal scene from the original film.

Mean Girls (2024) is a movie musical remake of the original, and while it's not quite teeming with the same Y2K energy, rest assured the story is in good hands with a new generation of Plastics, with a cast including Reneé Rapp, Angourie Rice, Avantika, Bebe Wood, Auli'i Cravahlo, Jaquel Spivey, and Christopher Briney. Catch the movie in theaters starting January 12 to see a new generation of quirky high schoolers navigate the ruthless social scene of high school.
