Good news for Bridgerton fans. The series, which hit Netflix in December 2020, won over a legion of fans that fell in love with the Shonda Rhimes-created show's engaging and romantic storyline. In addition to two more seasons, the production will have its very own spin-off, Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story.

The new project is a prequel to the story focusing on the rise and love life of Queen Charlotte, who was originally played by Golda Rosheuvel in Bridgerton

"Many viewers never knew the story of Queen Charlotte before Bridgerton brought her into the world, and I am thrilled that this new series will further expand her story and the world of Bridgerton," said Netflix's Bela Bajaria in a statement.

In addition to showing the story of Queen Charlotte, the series will also reveal the trajectory of Violet Bridgerton and Lady Danbury.

Rhimes will write and executive produce the new project, alongside Tom Verica and Betsy Beers.
