Less than a month before the release of Marvel's upcoming superhero film Eternals, fans are getting a first look at the movie's making. In a new featurette, members of the cast and crew open up about the heroes' backstory and how they brought the film to life.

"The Eternals explores the very creation of the Marvel Universe itself," explains producer Kevin Fiege.

The film ushers in a new group of superheroes to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, including Gemma Chan, Angelina Jolie, Salma Hayek, Richard Madden, Kumail Nanjiani, Brian Tyree Henry, Barry Keoughan, Lia McHugh, Laura Ridloff, and Don Lee as the eponymous group of alien heroes who have been protecting Earth for over 7,000 years. Game of Thrones actor Kit Harington is also featured in the film as Natural History Museum employee in London who is in a relationship with Chan's character.

The Crazy Rich Asians actress breaks down the group, saying, "Five of the Eternals are more of the thinkers, and the other five are the stronger fighters."

Says Fiege, "The Eternals are these remarkably superpowered characters, but also a dysfunctional family unit. The person to bring that together was Acadamy Award winner Chloé Zhao."

Zhao continues that thread, explaining, "We go on these emotional journeys with these Eternals to figure out who they are and what it means to be human."

Both Nanjiani and Hayek praise Zhao's work on the film, while Jolie discusses the racial diversity within the cast. She says, "A lot of people are going to see themselves as superheroes for the first time."
