Zendaya's Glamorous Roberto Cavalli Dress Was the Sensation of the Week
Sometimes, a simple black dress can become the highlight of the evening.
At the 2021 Ballon d'Or sports awards ceremony, Zendaya caught the eye of those around her in an elegant black dress. The long dress was designed especially for her by the current creative Fausto Puglisi, Director of Roberto Cavalli, or, more precisely, redesigned.
For the first time, a dress with an almost identical design, the exclusive accent of which is a metal detail on the back, was introduced more than 20 years ago. Roberto Cavalli debuted the gown as a part of the brand's Fall/Winter 2000 collection.
For the awards, Zendaya's gown was improved by replacing the silver back element with a gold one as well as swapping out the black threads that hold the decor element together with gold chains.
