Rick Owens Examines the Egyptian World for Men's Fall/Winter 2022
Rick Owens presents his Fall/Winter 2022 men's collection and the king of avant-garde style is more goth-glam than ever.
With the atmosphere of an underground club, the spotlights, or rather the stroboscopic lights, are turned on the Rick Owens Men's Fall/Winter 2022 collection that rise from the headdresses of the imaginary messiahs of a new era, where, however, there is no mention of Meta, the designer is keen to specify. On t-shirts and sweaters, the collection asks what we are today: "Subhuman, inhuman, superhero, or Owescorp?" These are opposite other garments boasting the provocative words "urinal."
As if they were just a styling accessory, these Dan Flavin and Ancient Egypt-inspired bulb hats (Owens himself visited Egypt this October) stole the show, lighting up the darkness of the smoke-shrouded hall, holding the audience in a state of suspense and unable to look away.
Owens himself touches on this mystery, declaring at the end of the show: "Isn't it true that all the boys want to be remembered as a heroic wizard standing on a cliff holding a torch?"
