Phoebe Philo Returns to Fashion Under LVMH with Phoebe Philo Studios

Phoebe Philo is officially making a comeback as part of a new project with LVMH in January 2022.

In early 2020, rumors were already circulating that Philo had not yet finished her career in fashion. Today, this appeal was answered, with Business of Fashion announcing that after a three-year hiatus from fashion, Philo will be back. This time at the helm of Phoebe Philo Studios, a clothing and accessories label "rooted in exceptional quality and design."

LVMH has reportedly acquired a minority stake in the new brand's stake, leaving space and freedom of decision for the British designer. Since she left Céline in 2017, the fashion world has been eagerly awaiting her return, so much so that she has dedicated an account to her on Instagram, which is very popular with fans and professionals: @oldceline

"Being in my studio and getting back to drawing once again was exciting and incredibly fulfilling," Philo said in a shared statement with BoF. "I can't wait to get back in touch with my audience and the people who have followed me. To be independent, to govern and experiment on my own terms is extremely meaningful to me."

Many speculated that she would take over Chanel or inherit the role of Creative Director of the late Azzedine Alaïa's namesake brand. This news, however, seems much more suited to Philo's DNA as a designer trendsetter.

So, it's a natural progression for us to reconnect with this new project," she added, with LVMH President and CEO Bernard Arnault describing Philo as "one of the most talented designers of our time. He noted, "I am very happy to collaborate with Phoebe in her entrepreneurial adventure and wish her great success."
