Omega Explores the Waters With New Editions of its Seamaster Collection
In celebration of Omega's 75th anniversary since launching its Seamaster watches, the luxury jeweler announces new editions of the iconic collection.
In honor of the 75 years since launching its renowned underwater Seamaster watches, Omega announced 11 new Seamaster styles fitting for an exploration of the blue abyss. Encapsulating the original essentiated depth-defying magnetism, Omega unveils new timeless timepieces that honor its history and innovation whilst bringing forward a contemporary edge. Bringing cohesion across each style is the ranging use of Summer Blue, finding inspiration from the vast seas — from the lighter-hued shallow surface to the dark deep ocean void.
The Seamaster Aqua Terra continues its legacy — first started in 2002 — with three new models. Crafted with symmetrical stainless steel cases and crowns, the luxe editions boast a sun-brushed Summer Blue dial and polished finishes, as it's fitting for a day on a yacht with underwater function up to 150 meters. Exquisitely intricate craftsmanship especially comes into play with the Aqua Terra Worldtimer, made with laser technology for detailed texture and color elements. Its accompanying circular dial that showcases a view of Earth calls to the adventurous spirit inherently implemented in the overarching Seamaster collection.
First launched in 1957, the Seamaster 300 finds modernity with a state-of-the-art chronometer and light blue Super-LumiNova-filled rhodium-plated hands and hour markers, while the Diver 300M (released in 1993) continues to be a way to track time while carrying out adventures 300 meters beneath the surface with its Summer Blue wave-pattern ceramic dial.
The aptly titled Planet Ocean finds reference from the Seamaster 300 with its helium escape valve, though it stands out on its own having perfect function 600 meters below the surface — a creation truly meant for under the sea.
The Ploprof and Ultra Deep were designed for the ultimate sea masters, as they can withstand the most intense ocean pressures, while still looking ultra-chic. For the former, its sapphire crystal bezel ring mirrors the monolithic crystal used in the earlier versions (released in 1971) and is reliable down to 1200 meters. The Ultra Deep Omega watch goes the deepest at 6000 meters, revolutionizing the watch industry and changing the standards for the future.
Reflecting the extraordinary depth found in the unknown deep blue seas, Ultra Deep's dial facing is an exact replica of the mapped pattern from the Five Deeps team, quite literally immortalizing a touch of the ocean within the solace of the watch.
Seventy-five years after bringing into the world an ingenious design that changed underwater technology as we know it, Omega continues to push boundaries and be a leader in its industry. These new timepieces are a beautiful ode to history's past and its continuous influence on future expectations and discoveries, ushering in a new era of luxury design and ocean exploration.
