Diptyque Paris
Diptyque Paris opened its new Madison Avenue boutique, paying close attention to architectural details close to the brand's Parisian ethos. This new location is Diptyque Paris's biggest store in the U.S., marking history for the brand. Taking inspiration from NYC landmarks like Grand Central Station and Old City Hall stations, the store features stunning stained glass windows, contradictory concrete, a delicate glass chandelier, and dozens of arches. Diptyque Paris curated a space with intentional design to not only display their array of homeware, fragrance, and lifestyle products but also to provide an architectural oasis for NYC shoppers.
Tod's
Tod's has finally re-opened its iconic flagship store at 650 Madison Avenue. The new and improved store spans over 2400 square feet with each angle of the store aiming to exhibit the enticing craftsmanship and merchandise that Tod's has to offer. This boutique carries both men's and women's ready-to-wear, accessories, and footwear collections, and will also be showcasing an exclusive 2023 holiday collection. The flagship is also offering exclusive customization services for the My Di bag, allowing customers to personalize their bags with select colors and initials.
Yohji Yamamoto
Yohji Yamamoto opened the doors of its first American storefront to the public with an exciting cocktail event to celebrate the opening. Located at 52 Wooster Street, the new concept store showcases the company's many brands, including the Pour Homme collection.
Valentino
In November 2023, Maison Valentino graced the streets of New York with a new flagship store opening. Set over three floors, the space faces Madison Avenue and 60th Street with large columns and large windows with installations that are meant to offer a look into the materials and architectural silhouettes that form the essence of the boutique’s interiors and the aura of all that is the luxury Italian fashion house. Valentino's iconic red and pink shades are welcomed all throughout the space whether that be through shelving, the elusive VIP area, or its Ready-to-Wear or menswear collections.
APL
On November 9, APL opened its newest flagship store in the heart of SoHo. The store is meant to embody the essence of the brand and the city, with the brand's luxurious and elegant signatures in mind. Conceptualized with London-based design firm Al-Jawad Pike and Tricarico Architects, the layout takes inspiration from tranquil, minimalist spaces in a simple yet severe environment that uses light and scale to draw the eye in.
Swarovski
To celebrate the unveiling of its new flagship store on Fifth Avenue in New York City, Swarovski welcomed many guests of which included celebrities, locals, media, and an exclusive collaboration with Skims. To commemorate the new collaboration, also in attendance at this party was Skims CEO Jens Grede and Co-Founder and Creative Director Kim Kardashian to celebrate this exciting moment. Located at 680 Fifth Avenue, the the Swarovski store encapsulates all that is the luxurious jewelry brand with an extravagant labratory grown diamond range, new diamond collections and two floors of enticing crystals.
Loewe
Taking it from the bustle of SoHo to the coastal breeze of the Hamptons, Loewe opened a permanent store in East Hampton on Main Street on August 1. Step inside the gorgeous interior of colorful walls and unique artistic displays to shop the luxury fashion house's women's Pre-Fall collection of ready-to-wear, bags, jewelry, and more. Come November, the store will also include the full men's collection. While distant from the city, Loewe's new and refined store is definitely worth the train ride.
Emporio Armani
The new flagship store of the Italian luxury fashion house is coming to Soho on July 25. The boutique's geometric and sleek interior features exclusive items from a new Emporio Armani SOHO collection, only sold at the 134 Spring Street location. Mr. Armani also shot the global advertising campaign for Emporio Armani in New York City, paying homage to the iconic EA Magazine that has captured the spirit of the brand since the 80s. The boutique itself also celebrates the style of Armani, featuring formalwear like dresses and tailored suits to casual attire in the brand's distinctive knitted and denim designs. Abercrombie & Fitch
This is not your mother's Abercrombie, nor the one you remember from your days at the local mall. The new Abercrombie & Fitch store at 668 Fifth Avenue is a size-inclusive celebration of the brand's heritage, with elegant details that invite the customer in for an immersive shopping experience. Visit the new store, opening today, July 21.
Armani Exchange
Armani Exchange returns to its downtown New York roots as it opens its new SoHo flagship store. Located on 536 Broadway, the spacious store features an open floor plan filled with best-selling essentials and racks full of the latest pieces.
Gucci
Gucci has opened a new Manhattan store located in one of the city's most energetic areas: the Meatpacking District. Set on the corner of W 14 Street and 9th Avenue, the two-level boutique is interiorly designed with inspirations referenced from Florence and New York. Standout design concepts include painted cement flooring, a curved staircase, mirrored surfaces, bold colors, and vintage mid-century furniture. The decor also supports Gucci's commitment to sustainability as second-hand pieces and sustainably-made materials are incorporated throughout the space.
Khaite
Khaite's first standalone store had its official unveiling as the setting for the brand's Fall/Winter 2023 runway show. The flagship stands on 165 Mercer Street in SoHo and perfectly encapsulates Khaite's defining elements with its darker mood and transformative edges.
"The design was conceived in terms of material—choosing the right materials and working with them in the right way to satisfy the programmatic requirements," said Griffen Frazen in the press release, architect and husband to Khaite's creative director Catherine Holstein. "We leaned into elemental qualities like natural light, preserving the scale and openness while creating intimate spaces."
Glossier
On Feb. 17, Glossier opened its new SoHo store. Located on 72 Spring Street, the grand and elegant space serves to provide its customers with an interactive experience, including communal product testing areas, a gift shop, a Selfie room, and the Glossier You Lounge. The well-thought-out space is interiorly designed with nuanced inspirations from New York, as depicted by the concrete floors representative of an industrial edge matched with plush couches to add a softer and more residential feel.
Alaïa
Alaïa returns to the city with the opening of its first New York store since 1991. The location at 149 Mercer Street is just steps away from the Maison’s original boutique. According to Creative Director Pieter Mulier, New York is a “feeding ground for creativity.” Given the late Azzedine Alaïa’s long-standing artistic roots, coming back to SoHo was a natural next step. The thoughtfully curated space displays an assortment of artwork and furniture by Donald Judd, Mike Kelly, Jonathan Horowitz, and Robert Rauschenberg. Sleek and sophisticated, Alaïa’s New York store could likely double as an art gallery. Welcome back Alaïa, we’ve missed you.
Versace
The Italian fashion house is bringing opulence to the Upper East Side with the debut of its new Madison Avenue boutique. The spacious interior is as ornate as we could expect from a Versace establishment: marble, silk, and gold accents complement floors featuring the house's signature Barocco prints and Greca designs. SJP by Sarah Jessica Parker
Sarah Jessica Parker relocated her flagship boutique to West Village. Formerly on West 54th Street, this downtown move is a fitting update given the recent reboot of Parker’s hit show, Sex and the City. The '70s-inspired space features an assortment of Parker’s Italian-made shoes, in addition to several SJP product varieties. Located in the heart of the action, the 500-square-foot boutique sits right at the corner of Bleecker and Perry Street.
Cult Gaia
Cult Gaia opens their first New York flagship location at 60 Wooster Street on February 8, 2023. After achieving Instagram virality in 2016 with the Ark bag, Cult Gaia has evolved into a full-fledged lifestyle brand. The space, much like Cult Gaia's pieces, is a work of art. Given the sculptural quality of the brand’s offerings, their new flagship store is informed by the grand colonnades of ancient temples. In each of the location's three distinct rooms, Cult Gaia’s signature standout pieces are offset by a relaxing color palette of earthy limestone and plaster.
