The Mini Skirt is Here to Stay

The mini length became famous in the '60s and '70s, and now designers are loving it all year round.

Did you know that the creation of the miniskirt is attributed to the legendary English designer Mary Quant? In the '60s and '70s, it was almost a mandatory trend. After her, several designers became famous for presenting pieces with mini hemlines, such as Courrèges with its futuristic fashion.

Now, we are living with the desire for a post-vaccine world and a return to normal life. As we emerge, our fashion is getting bolder, and our hemlines seem to be getting shorter. Across the Spring/Summer and Fall/Winter 2021 shows, we saw names like Saint Laurent, Versace, Michael Kors, and even the traditional Chanel opt for short pieces, from jackets to dresses to skirts.
