Zendaya Will Not Be Attending the 2022 Met Gala
The star of Euphoria and Spiderman No Way Home will miss the most anticipated red carpet of the year for the third year in a row.
Zendaya , the undisputed queen of red carpets, will not participate in the most glamorous red carpet of the year. The 25-year-old has declared that she will not be in New York for the Met Gala 2022. The reason? The star, known for her role as Rue in Euphoria, and for the films Dune and Spiderman: No Way Home, will be instead on the set of her next film Challengers, directed by Luca Guadagnino.
The last time she attended the Met was in 2019, for Camp: Notes on Fashion edition. She was dressed by Tommy Hilfiger and presented herself as a beautifully modern but edgy Cinderella. Her first Met Gala, she walked the carpet as a Joan of Arc 2.0 in Versace for the 2018 Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination theme. In 2017, she donned a Dolce & Gabbana gown and in 2016 a Michael Kors glimmering golden ensemble for the theme, Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology, which is re-proposed for the 2022 event.
This year's theme, which has caused some controversy, has been baptized as Gilded Glamor! Characterized by opulence, wealth and gold we can only imagine the pieces stylists and stars alike are conjuring for the red carpet. Even though the red carpet star won't be there, we couldn't help but imagine what her dress for the 2022 Met Gala Gilded Glamor might look like.
